A Boutique Style Spring Break

Spring is officially here and while your university days may be long gone, that doesn’t mean that a proper Spring Break isn’t in your future. Now is the perfect time to book out a chill three day weekend or extend the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend into a proper vacation. No matter which you choose, here are some #TravelFly worthy places and boutique hotels to consider for your well deserved break from reality:prlr-springbreak4For The Solo Sojourner: Granada, Nicaragua (seen above)One of the best things about travel is getting lost in your surroundings and discovering something new, but when you’re traveling solo you also want to make sure that your destination can deliver on both discovery and safety. Enter Granada, Nicaragua. Located just 50 minutes from Managua’s international airport, Granada’s is Nicaragua’s oldest colonial city situated right on Lake Nicaragua and pretty much close to everything the country has to offer from beaches to hikes to the Mombacho Volcano. But its the colorful charm and streets of Granada that makes it perfect to explore by foot or bike.Where to Stay: The Tribal HotelWith only 5 premium rooms and two junior suites, the Tribal hotel is more like a really cool home versus a hotel. It’s boho-chic to the max with a small dipping pool and a private terrace in every room and wifi throughout to keep you connected. And as it’s situated away from the main tourist drag of Granada, the Tribal gives you plenty of interaction with locals as soon as you step out the door. Rooms start at $125/night.  prlr-springbreak3Something for Two: Mykonos, GreeceKnown for it’s summer nightlife scene, the “island of the winds” aka Mykonos is also one of Greece’s most romantic isles to get away from everything and explore everything it has to offer. In addition to the bevy of restaurants, galleries and boutiques, Mynokos also boasts some of the most picturesque beaches you will ever see and stone streets made for getting lost in. The isle is also home to a vivid gay & lesbian scene, making it one of the most inclusive destinations in the region.Where To Stay: Boheme MykonosSituated nest to the popular Mykonian Windmills, Bohème takes the concept of “casual luxury” seriously with sea view suites, some complete with their own outdoor jacuzzi for two. And when you decide to leave your room, you can enjoy the property’s outdoor swimming pool and restaurant which specializes in locally sourced cuisine with a drink at it’s al fresco bar afterwards with a massage in the morning. Perfectly suited for two, starting at $378.00.  prlr-springbreak2The Girlfriend Getaway: Barcelona, SpainIf you’re at the point where “turn up with my girls” is getting stale, remix it in Barcelona. This coastal city is the perfect blend of lazy beach-inspired culture and the nightlife and culture that Spain is proudly known for. Just be prepared to start later than usual and go until the sun rises, with mid-day naps being an integral part of Spanish culture. Cultural landmarks like the Sagrada Familia and a walk on La Rambla are a must do, but the real find is discovering the neighborhood (and bars) of Barcelona on foot or by bike and one of it’s 9 beaches the next day to ease off the night’s fun.Where To Stay: H10 MetropolitanA perfect mash up of great design with plenty of places to socialize indoors and out, the H10 Metropolitan is perfectly situated for the group of girls who desire a little bit of everything. It’s location in the L’Eixample district will put you in the middle of the city, close to both public and street transportation, great shopping and near the La Barceloneta beach district. With just 85 rooms, it’s like a mini social club with free wifi, a plunge and swimming pool with an outdoor garden and terrace and loungers. Rooms start at $290 a night for two.  prlr-springbreak1For the (Not so) Posh Parents: Palm Beach, FloridaTraditionally associated with old money and classic luxury, Palm Beach has started to relax over the past decade and has slowly become a haven for those who love to do nothing in supreme style, perfect for old friends who want to reconnect or a chill solo jaunt to pamper yourself.Where To Stay: Eau Palm BeachSince their 12.5 million dollar renovation was completed in December complete with rooms designed by Jonathan Adler, the Eau Palm Beach has been on my personal list of hotels to discover. If you loves great design along with a great view, easy beach access and just about everything taken care of for you, you may find yourself at home quickly. And because it’s a family friendly resort, your little ones will get to chill in style as well. Rooms start at $441.
