A #TravelFlySolo18 Hotel Upgrade

[gallery ids="60524,60523,60522,60521,60520,60519,60518"]Sometimes the best things come at the very last minute.

Last year at the UNICO resort last year in Mexico, everything was amazing. We received rave reviews from everyone, except for one thing—unexpected guests. A lot of them. As in a huge overflow group from the neighboring Hard Rock Hotel whose idea of luxury relaxation and service was a bit rowdy. While this was not our fault, I remember saying to myself, "if I could change anything, I'd want to know who will be there before we arrived."
I guess you get what you wish for! Yesterday, both Jesse and I received a call of concern from the Royal Myconian concierge. Apparently another large group is staying there this week with the launch of an airline route and international press junket. By large, they mean over 300 persons who are using both resorts (Royal Myconian + Myconian Imperial) as a mini-conference location with a series of events that may interrupt our flow and result in overcrowding at the pool, restaurants, car/pickup congestion, etc. Since our group is much smaller they gave us a choice: we could stay and possibly have a less than great experience OR we could accept an upgrade to their more upscale property, The Myconian Ambassador for this last minute change. Ironically, the Ambassador was one of the hotels we originally wanted, but it was too expensive. Both Africa, Jesse and I talked...we also consulted past hosts such as Ty Alexander and our travel contributors who have been to Mykonos, researched reviews and videos and agreed that the Ambassador is definitely an upgrade from the Myconian.-
Still, I don't like surprise inconveniences. At all. Unless it's worth it. Your comfort and experience is very much worth it, so in exchange for this last minute change of hotels, we have negotiated the following for you ALL at no additional cost:-
  1. An Upgraded Room. We have traded up from your Royal Myconian 1st tier Premium Rooms for the Ambassador's 2nd tier True Blue rooms with a private terrace and sea views. Images are attached. If you originally booked a higher level room, expect an even higher level at the Ambassador in your confirmation.
  2. A Free 45 Minute Spa Treatment. Indulge in a complimentary 45 minute treatment at the Thalasso Spa
  3. Spa Gifts. Awaiting you will be a two gifts of your choice at the spa valued from 80-100 euro each.
  4. Private VIP Champagne Breakfast on Saturday & Sunday. The Ambassador is setting aside a private area and dedicated butler during their champagne breakfast buffet for us to enjoy on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
  5. Roundtrip White Glove Transfers. No matter if you are flying or ferrying, your transfers are included with VIP service.
  6. A Better Location & Better Hotel. The Myconian Ambassador is located on the same coast, but closer to town and other popular sightseeing locations—which means better rates for taxis, etc. Like the Royal Myconian, the Ambassador offers a pool that overlooks the neighboring town of Platis Gialos and the beach is just a short walk down the slope. It is a 5 star hotel and also a part of the Relais & Châteaux group, a collection of restaurants and hotels known for their fine dining and service.
  7. Intimacy. The Myconian Ambassador is much smaller than the Royal Myconian, with a more boutique hotel feel, better views of the water and Mykonos, more attentive service and intimacy. And larger rooms, more fluid rooms. Images are attached.
So what does this mean? What do you have to do?
You don't have to do anything, we've taken care of everything. Your airport and ferry transportation has already been arranged and a driver will be awaiting you. Just arrive safely. Jesse/Travel By Design is contacting you all today via email with a confirmation of everything.-
With the exception of the Happy Hour, there are no changes to any Parlour experiences/events. Because this puts you closer to the Airport, Old Port and Mykonos town, it will decrease your travel time to/from the ferry and airport by at least 20 minutes. The Happy Hour will still  be held at the Myconian Ambassador.-
Hillary and I built this brand on the backs of our stellar reputations, and stand by it fully when it comes to our honesty, quality and transparency to our guests. While not ideal, Africa, Jesse and I agreed that this is much better than you wanting to relocate after arriving to the hotel due to the congestion or having a less than stellar experience. Though last minute, it's better to avoid a situation in our eyes. In the interest of fairness and convenience, if you have any change or cancellation fees associated with this move, etc please send over supporting documents to me and PARLOUR will cover them immediately via PayPal. Both Jesse and I are traveling most of tomorrow, but are here all day today to answer any questions you may have!
