Film Africa: Celebrating the Best in African Cinema in London
November 1 marked the first day of Film Africa in London, a 10-day event celebrating some of the best in cinema and culture from the continent. This year the festival will feature 70 films including Mama Africa, the much-talked about documentary about the life of Miriam Makeba, Wanlov and M2NSA's pidgin musical Coz of Moni, and Tey, the Senegalese film featuring artist and poet Saul Williams. The event will also include accompanying Q&As, free professional workshops and live performance events. I, for one, am looking forward to catching a few of the movies, here's a preview of what's on my radar:An African Election Mama AfricaMama Africa – Miriam Makeba from trigon-film on Vimeo.
