New Video: Nas Rocks 'The Don' on 'Jimmy Kimmel'
Last night, while I was catching up with my fiancee and wearing a leather jacket because it's 50 DEGREES in San Francisco, Nas was celebrating reaching no. 1 on Billboard's albums chart with his new album, Life is Good. The Queens MC, and one of my longtime crushes, performed "The Don" on the US late night show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in Los Angeles. In a recent interview with Complex, Nas said of his newest work:
As a young man who questions everything about life, I thought, “If there’s a God, why are people suffering?” I was extremely rebellious. So when 'God’s Son' came, that was me at the foot of the most high, saying, “I’m your child, and I need You right now. You don’t need me. I need You.” At that point, I started to feel like, “Yo, I don’t care no more,” but even then, I kept it a little toned down. With this album I’m saying what I’ve got to say, and that’s what it is.
Indeed. Watch Nas perform "The Don" and "Nasty," one of his earlier streets single, below:"The Don""Nasty"
